Hajama (ヒジャマ, Hijama) is a character in the Aozora's Adventure series.
Background[edit | edit source]
Since ancient times, Hajama’s homeland, Saudi Arabia, was known for its dense population of genies residing with humans. Each genie living in the city were in possession of a personal lamp used as a personal, portable home. Inside, the lamps are decorated with elegant furniture styled to match the lamp’s appearance outside and the genie’s most commonly-associated colors and personal tastes. When outside of their lamp, the lamp is worn as an accessory on the genie’s outfit, such as on their head, shoulder, arm, wrapped around their neck, or on the side of their hip, integrated into the rest of their outfit. Some even use their lamp as a handheld weapon.
Years ago, when Hajama’s essence was still being developed, she unknowingly fused herself with a large crystal ball, causing her physical form to form with a large crystal ball embedded into the navel area and give her different powers considered “abnormal” to the humans and the other genies. This abnormality caused most of the normal humans to develop fears towards her, despite her best efforts to be normal. Even with a small number of friends, both human and genie, trying to help comfort her, she couldn’t take the pressure and hid inside a small unoccupied building, staying in her lamp for prolonged periods of time.
Days later, a small fortune telling service in a large purple tent mysteriously appeared one day, and inside was a woman with a large, celestial robe enveloping her entire body. Those that ventured inside and had their fortunes told to would experience their fortunes and wishes becoming true due to a spell casted onto the customer by the figure. Staying hidden, the hooded lady did this for several months, until three burglars entered in an attempt to raid the tent on one evening.
Realizing what was happening, the figure discarded the robe and cast magic on herself to revert to her original look, revealing her to be Hajama. Using psychic powers granted by the orb, Hajama drew the robbers out of the tent and gave chase to them, attacking while soaring high above the crowds of people. They looked up, some even recognizing the genie and the crystal ball in her body glowing brightly, and seemed to be cheering her on. Hajama lured the bandits into a small open space in the town, where she proceeded to do battle with the crooks, blasting them with magic, summoning objects, and finishing them off with a large orb of magenta/purple energy that spawned high above the sky before raining down and exploding in a flash of energy when they least expect it. Hajama then immobilized the bandits with some rope and left them to be taken care of by law enforcers.
Seen in a new light, Hajama was more welcomed by the townsfolk, developing a following with the human and genie residents of the city.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Hajama is refined, calm, and hyper observant of others. She is not quick to upset, but she grows tense and wary of others that she senses negative energy from. Her voice is very deep, mature, and has a small noticeable echo.
Even with her laid-back and relaxed nature, Hajama has a rarely-seen playful side, using her magic in a more comedic form factor to entertain and please herself.
Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]
Hajama is a genie, a magical creature with a human's body and many spells at her disposal. She can fly freely, turn into a puff of magic smoke to go into small openings, and teleport a short distance away. Her genie powers grant her the ability to conjure objects out of thin air, even up to full-sized tents, and transform into various forms including objects, animals, and completely different human figures (such as her hooded fortune teller disguise).
Hajama has the power to see into the future, an ability granted to her by the crystal ball embedded into her body, and cast attacks in the form of energy blasts from the sky timed to strike at specific timings to catch her enemies off guard. If she must attack on the fly, Hajama can simply fire energy blasts from her hands and unleash powerful beams after some buildup from the crystal orb in her navel area.
Like with most genies, Hajama carries around with her a personalized magic lamp. Hajama's lamp is a sleek, crisp gold color outlined with dark indigo details and gemstones hanging from Hajama’s right hip. Her lamp’s interiors resemble an ancient Arabian-style lounge room, with gold and indigo-colored sofas, a table, carpeting, and walls. Hajama can enter the lamp at any time and bring other living beings inside if she has enough power.
